Waverley Council has granted a licence to Fuzzy Operations to deliver a dance party, elrow Bondi Beach XXL at Bondi Beach on New Year’s Eve, as well as a Locals Lawn event, with entertainment, amplified music, bars, food and fireworks..
Members of the Bondi and Waverley community are closely monitoring the impact of such a major party event on the local community with a view to identifying improvements that might be made for future events, such as the planned concert & large music festival to be held on 20th and 21st February 2026 at the same location.
What we know about the ticketed party event:
It will be held from 6pm – 12:30am on New Year’s Eve, 31 December 2025.
The stage will be on the beach in front of Bondi Park, and the event will take place in Bondi Park south side, between the Pavilion and the Skate Park.
Over 100 security guards will be on hand.
Additional public transport is planned, not clear who will be paying for it.
The event is ticketed for 15,000 people.
What we know about the lead up to the ticketed party event
We know that from:
19 December 2025 - areas of the beach will be closed off and fencing erected
20 December 2025 - construction of the stage on the beach sand will commence near the skate park
22 December 2025 - some parking will be closed off to enable site deliveries
27 December 2025 - full site build commences, work exclusion zones in place
27 December 2025 - Park Drive South (rear parking area) closed in stages
30 December 2025 - Queen Elizabeth Drive (south) closed (front car park)
30 December 2025 - access to Bondi Promenade restricted, access through Bondi Pavilion restricted and access to event area restricted.
What we know about activities after the ticketed party event
We know that:
1 January 2026 - Queen Elizabeth Drive (front car park), access to Bondi Promenade, Bondi Park all reopened to the public.
4 January 2026 - Park Drive South (rear parking area) re-opened
5 January 2026 - event pack down concludes
Date unknown: Re-turfing of the grass area will occur, depending on conditions & weather.
